The process of elimination is what is carried out coming towards the end of an investigation, this can be done by interviewing a witness (may not be one), forensic evidence is another part of the process that can lead to eliminating suspects; this then brings the question of where does the investigation lead and what has been gathered so far. Aspects that can be used to eliminate certain suspects can be DNA or the finding of new evidence that is found which supports the defendant which means that evidence would then lead to a different person and make the original suspect potentially clear.
This links to my case because of the blood splatter that was found on Sion Jenkins coat after supposedly holding Billie-Jo after she was found on the patio floor covered in blood, but later on in the investigation forensic evidence came supporting his plead when he said Billie-Jo spat the blood at her as she was dying. So the evidence that was used to send Sion Jenkins down was then explained and was later acquitted.
